Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults
The Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults or RCIA, as it is commonly referred to, is a faith journey in which one deepens his/her relationship with God. You will develop friendships with other candidates and team members through Bible study, faith sharing, and learning about the teachings of the Catholic Church. Adults are then fully initiated into the Catholic Church through the Sacraments of Baptism, Eucharist and Confirmation.

Baptized as a Catholic but never received the Sacraments of First Eucharist and/or Confirmation?

Baptized in a non-Catholic Christian faith and you are now interested in exploring the Catholic faith?

Never baptized in any Christian faith and now you would like to be a full member of the Catholic Church?
If you answered yes to any of these questions, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults may be for you. Rite of Christian Initiation of Children
St. John’s offers a program of instruction in the Catholic faith for young people of our parish who wish to celebrate Reconciliation, Eucharist, and Confirmation; but for various reasons, were not able to participate in the regular parish sacramental formation. Generally, this program is for children who are in grade 3 and older. (The traditional track for sacrament preparation begins when the child is in first grade) If you are a parent and have a child who has not received any or all of the above-mentioned sacraments, or if you have a friend who may be interested in this program, please contact Sr. Jane Keller, Director of Religious Education at 717-235-2156 or email srjkeller@sjbnf.org.
