Catechesis of the Good Shepherd

Our parish offers the children of the parish an opportunity to participate in the Catechesis of the Good Shepherd. This catechesis brings together children as young as 3 years old into the presence of Jesus through his/her experiences in the Atrium. The Atrium is a carefully prepared room which is located in our school building. What is different with this catechesis is it is based on the Montessori principles of educating the whole child, physically and spiritually.
Vacation Bible School (VBS)

Vacation Bible School is a joy‑filled summer program where children dive into Scripture through upbeat music, creative crafts, energetic games, and faith‑building activities. Rooted in Catholic teaching, VBS creates a welcoming space for kids to encounter Jesus, make new friends, and celebrate the beauty of our faith in a lively, hands‑on way that feels like an adventure. Blue Knights Boys' Club

Blue Knights is a fun and faith-filled program for boys ages five and up. They will learn about the Catholic Faith and the lives of the Saints while becoming “Crusaders for Virtue.” The group meets on the third Monday of each month starting during the school year from 6:30-8:00pm in the Social Hall.
Little Flowers Girls' Club

The Little Flowers welcome girls in Kindergarten through 6th grade. We meet monthly with the primary goal of helping kids further develop and deepen their faith through a strong catechesis-based program; we learn about some of the great Catholic Saints as well as further define and develop strong Christian values and virtues.
Altar Server (4th - 12th grade)

Altar servers strive to make Catholic worship more reverent, efficient, and beautiful.
At St. John the Baptist, young people are eligible to be trained for service at the altar when they are in 4th grade.
Teen Disciples (high school)

Religious Ed Office
High school students interested in learning more about God, the culture, happiness, relationships, and living as a Catholic in today’s world are welcome to join us for conversation, prayer – and food, too. Meetings are held on most Wednesday’s beginning in September from 6:15 – 7:45 in the YM Room.
Young Adult Ministry (ages 18-39)

Youth Ministry (grades 6-12)

SJB YM is a Catholic group of teens open to anyone in grades 6-12, regardless of church, school, religion, etc. We host a variety of events, with our regularly scheduled meetings on Saturdays from 6:00 -8:30 pm. We start with dinner, followed by a prayer/reflection and then a variety of games! Come give YM a shot! OCIC (Children's Catechumenate)

The OCIC Journey provides formation for children who are unbaptized, baptized in another Christian tradition, or baptized Catholic but not fully catechized. This process helps young people learn, pray, and grow in faith as they prepare to receive the sacraments and become part of the Catholic community. Families may contact the Religious Ed Office for current offerings.
Children's Choir

This group is for parish children Grades 3-6. Some exceptions are made for younger students. (This is a good group music activity for homeschoolers). The Children’s Choir meets once a week after school to practice and sings once a month for a Sunday 9:00am Mass and one Christmas Eve and Easter Mass.
