At St. John the Baptist, we give because we are grateful. Everything we have—our time, our talents, and our treasure—is a gift from God. As faithful stewards, we are called to use these gifts to support the mission of Christ and His Church, to sustain our parish community, and to serve those in need.

Tithing is not about a fixed amount or obligation, but about joyful generosity and trust in God’s providence. Scripture reminds us that “God loves a cheerful giver” (2 Corinthians 9:7). Each person is encouraged to give in a way that reflects their means and their gratitude for God’s blessings—always after meeting the needs of their family. Many find it helpful to use the traditional guide of giving 10% of income: often 5% to the Church and 5% to charitable causes.

Sunday Giving is the lifeblood of our parish. It supports our day-to-day operations—utilities, staff, faith formation, sacramental preparation, and outreach ministries—ensuring St. John the Baptist remains a beacon of hope and spiritual nourishment for all.

There are many ways to give—through weekly offertory envelopes, online giving, automatic bank transfers, estate planning, or special donations to specific ministries or needs. However you choose to give, please know your generosity directly supports the life and mission of St. John the Baptist Parish and the broader Catholic Church.

With grateful hearts, we thank you for your prayerful support and your commitment to living as joyful stewards of God’s many blessings.
Why do we give?
