Welcome to "The Belltower Blog!"

In September, 1979, the first ever publication of St. John the Baptist's "Belltower" was published. Fr. Sylvan Capitani, who was pastor at the time, introduced the Belltower by writing in the first issue:

"I am pleased to present the first issue of our parish newsletter. We have a fine parish spirit here at St. John's, and a close, family-like feeling. We would like to preserve that family spirit even though we realize the parish is growing very quickly. The newsletter is one way of preserving and building parish community, since it provides us with a vehicle for sharing personal and interesting parish news which space does no allow us to include in our weekly bulletin."

The Belltower's appearance evolved over time along with advances in technology. The last printed publication was published in June, 2018.

We hope to continue "preserving and building our parish community" with this newest online version of "The Belltower Blog." Rather than having one whole issue with a definite deadline, we will publish articles as they are received.
