About St. John the Baptist Catholic Church

Dear Parishioners,

Welcome to the Saint John the Baptist family! Saint John the Baptist proclaimed, “Behold, the Lamb of God.” No doubt, you have already experienced that we are a vibrant and mission driven parish, seeking to follow in the footsteps of our patron who never tired of directing others to Christ who is our hope, our reconciliation, and our peace.

Our parish family manifests the presence of Christ firstly in the celebration of the Sunday Eucharist, which is the heart of our life. Strengthened by our communion with Christ and one another, we are sent forth into the world. We follow Christ’s call to educate through our school, our religious education program, and many other faith formation offerings. We respond compassionately to the needs of our brothers and sisters through our parish outreach programs, parish counselors, clothing bank, and as the host of the ecumenical Southern York County Food Pantry. We continue to grow closer to Christ through our Corpus Christi Perpetual Adoration Chapel, through our Bible study, and prayer groups.

This great work done through the grace of God happens in a beautiful new parish center building which hosts our school. The school opened in September 2010 beginning with Kindergarten and will eventually reach Grade 6. This building is also where our Religious Education Program meets. Our commitment to growing as disciples is reflected in the growth of our buildings and parish campus over these last few years.

We know that we are but stewards of these treasures which come as God’s gifts to us. As good stewards, we rely on our Sunday offering for financial support and on the time shared by our parishioners. We are a tithing parish, looking to God’s plan for giving as our pattern. You are asked to prayerful consider your contribution to our parish family. With your help, we can support the mission and ministry of the parish. When contacted, we invite and encourage you to respond generously according to your means. The second collection on the first Sunday of every month is designated for the parish debt.

I look forward to meeting you as you join the Saint John’s family. Please know that you and those you love are in my prayers.

In His Sacred Heart,

Father Robert A. Yohe, Pastor
and the Welcoming Committee of St. John the Baptist
